Personal Statement
Softball means so much more than just a game, it has taught me life skills like dependability, confidence and growth. The love for the sport started 5 years old and keeps growing as I play because my knowledge of the game expands. Since I was a little girl I’ve grown up watching softball and baseball and since then I knew I wanted to play as long as I could. This drove my commitment and will to play the sport. I want to keep the love, commitment, and drive it takes to become a great softball player.
On the field I use my speed to quickly get under a fly ball. Tracking is another strong suit for me as an outfielder. Off the bat I can see it and navigate to where I should be. Offensively, I’m valued for being a slapper. I converted from only a right handed hitter to a slapper March (2021) my sophomore year. Since then I have grown tremendously, I am able to read the defense and place the ball where the defense is not. I’m able to do anything from a bunt, slap, or swing. Being a slapper helps me be dangerous as an offensive player to help my team.
There is no limitation on what school or location as long as the academics are well established. My goals for college is to find a high academic standard as well as a competitive softball program.
Below is a statement from my High School Co-Head Coaches: Kris Mangen and Kate Pfeffer -
"Emma’s speed and work ethic allow her to stand apart from others. She only recently transitioned to the left side of the plate, and she has made tremendous growth in one year due to her diligence, work ethic, and commitment to being a student of the game. In the outfield, Emma tracks the ball well and has a strong arm. More importantly than all of that, however, Emma is a great teammate and a joy to coach. She is committed to doing what is best for the team, she has a great attitude, and she works hard to be the best that she can be. "
