MaKayla White '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is MaKayla White and I’m 17 years old attending Portsmouth West High School, West Portsmouth Ohio. My main goals are to attend college and receive a degree in nursing and would love to play softball at the next level while attending college. I am a Junior and a starting varsity catcher since my freshman year.  During my summers, I also play ASA traveling softball team (s) which I play two positions, catcher and short stop. I love playing ASA traveling softball, because it’s a more competitive level and more challenging. I played last summer and will again this summer for Southern Ohio Vipers, along with other ASA teams, Little League & Senior League in the pass years.

I am a highly motivated athletic with a range of skills and hard work ethic and have received awards for my performance. In high school, I received 2^nd Team All SOC, and All-Southeast District Honorable mention my sophomore year.  My Junior Year I received 1^st Team All SOC, 1^st Team All-Southeast District, All State Honorable Mention, & Award-Slugger of the team.  Also, play basketball and a starting varsity player since my freshman year. I have also received awards for my performance in this sport -1^st team SOC my sophomore year, Junior year I was voted Maxpreps Athletic of the week, Honorable Mention All-District 14 Coaches Association, Associated Press AP All Southeast District 3rd Team, Top 100 Invitation Maxpreps, 1st Team All SOC, & was awarded MVP. I am also a good leader and role model on an off the field. I enjoy helping the little league girls when holding camps or umping their games.  I believe I would be a great candidate at the next level.

Again, I would love to continue to play a sport I love, while furthering my career in Nursing.
