Personal Statement

My name is Shaylei Giesey. I attend Monroe Central High School. I have a 3.79 GPA, ranking me 7th in my class. I have always been taught that grades are as important as softball, because if I don't have the grades, I can't go where I want to go!

I was the starting Varsity catcher for Monroe Central, I am also a right-handed pitcher. I play 1st Base and some 3rd as well. It has been a life-long dream of mine to play softball at a collegiate level and continue on to Professional Women's Softball. I often spend time helping younger girls learn how to pitch.

I hope to pursue a degree in architectural design. I believe that being part of a team means supporting everyone on the team. If an error is made, keep that person's head up, no one is perfect. If you let a team get down on themselves, it is hard to get them back up. Positivity and encouragement is something everyone needs. Everyone needs somebody to have their back, and that is what a team is for, to work together and achieve the win! I am aggressive any time I am on the field. I work hard for what I want, both on the field and in the classroom.
