(Verbally committed to Seton Hill University)
My name is Maddie Roberts and I'm a 2023 RHP and 1st baseman for PA Krunch 18U Blue Elite based out of Harrisburg, PA and Central PA Havoc based out of Montandon, PA. Academically I finished my Junior year with a 98.7 GPA with a heavy honors course load. My daily goal is to be a leader both on and off the field and the person that picks up my team and friends when they're down. I'm a high spin pitcher with numerous pitches in my bag of tricks to include the screw, curve, drop, rise, fast ball (2 seam & 4 seam), drop curve and flip change.
I've had some fantastic games this high school season, but as a team it took us a few games to put it all together. We made district playoffs, but despite the zero earned runs, we came up short in the bottom of the 7th innning losing 3-2. Looking forward to next years battle! I'm told we play in one of the most difficult divisions in the state. I was recently named first team all star. This year thirteen of our opponents qualified for districts, four of them won their districts and of those four, we beat three of them. We also gave our district champion two of their three losses for the season and they've since made it to the state championship where they took second. Their third loss came from Central Columbia who was led by a D1 (Bucknell) committed pitcher.
Frequent camp comments I've recieved over the last year: "You're a hard worker"; "You're very coachable"; "You've got a great personality"; "You show a lot of devotion"; "You're batting is explosive"; and "you have exceptional spin".
I attend weekly pitching lessons with a former Coppin State D1 pitcher, Candice Vanhorn. I practice fielding and hitting at least twice a week, lift weights three days a week and maintain my position on the distinguished honor roll. Additionally I remain active in several other extracurricular activities such as basketball, soccer, and photographing my schools other athletic events for the school newspaper.
My short term goal is to continue playing the sport that I love while pursuing a degree in the sciences.
My long term goal is to become a doctor.
