My name is Gracie Lawson. I am currently 16 years old and I am a 2025 catcher from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
During the summer season, I play for the Saskatoon U17AA Hustlers Fastball team. In 2022, I attended the U15AA Canadian Championships. I play for the 222's Fastpitch Travel Team Program during the winter season. This is my fourth year playing for the 222's program. In the past, I have had the opportunity to play in tournaments in Sacramento, Nashville and Las Vegas. I am also part of the Tommy Douglas Softball Academy at my high school.
I am a very dedicated player and I am always looking for ways to improve all aspects of my game. I work hard at practices, go to the gym on a regular basis and take private lessons from my catching/hitting coach weekly. On the field, I am a defensive catcher and consistent hitter. I am also very coachable and will take advice from coaches in order to develop myself as an athlete. I give my best effort every time that I step on the field and I am constantly putting in the work at home. My determination and work ethic has helped me come a long way. Being a good teammate is very important to me. I always treat my teammates with respect. I am a team player and bring a lot of positivity to the field. As a student, I demonstrate these same qualities. I work hard to maintain good grades and I am able to balance softball and school life.
I love softball because of how it feels to be part of a team. I love knowing that I can count on my teammates and that they can depend on me too. I like to learn new things and continually grow in the sport. It is exciting to step on the field and know that I can get better everyday. My goal is to further my softball career and education at the University level.
