I have been playing softball since I was five years old. Our first game in Colorado this summer was tied at the end of regulation. We started ITB and the opposing team moved the runner from second to third with a bunt. So with one out, the next batter hit a fly ball to right field, where I was playing. I knew that after I caught the ball I was throwing to home to try and get the runner. I caught the ball, threw home and my team got out of the inning with a double play! That was a play that I will never forget! This sport has been a huge part of my life and has made me a better athlete and person.
Besides playing softball, I play on the varsity volleyball team and run on the varsity cross country team at my high school. I am also involved in several organizations on campus. I am currently the valedictorian and treasurer of the sophomore class, the treasurer of the Library club, and serve on the student council and FCA. I am also an active member of the Boling FFA, where I was a state semi-finalist in the junior prepared speaking event and third at area in chapter conducting. I show market pigs and market steers through my FFA chapter as well. By participating in these organizations and team sports, I feel that I have the work ethic and character that will allow me to be successful playing softball on the collegiate level.
I am looking for a college that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. Currently, I want to major in Agricultural Business. I have grown up in a rural area with an agriculture background. I think I would like to work in agriculture sales.
