Hey, I'm Whitney!! Also known by my friends, teammates and coaches as Whit or Whit-Whit.
I am a 5'-9" RHP with Texas Glory 2K7 16U in Dallas, TX. I am a member of the Class of 2025, and my goals include playing college softball while preparing for a professional career.
I am a three-sport athlete: softball, track and volleyball ... and I love to compete!! However, during my junior year I will suspend my participation in volleyball to spend more time developing my skills as a softball athlete. Achievements during my first two years of high school include:
Softball: Two-year starting pitcher and letter recipient. Named to the 1st Team All-District unit both years, as well as Pitcher of the Year (Sophomore year) and Freshman of the Year. Also received Academic All-District honors. Referred to as the "Difference Maker for W. T. White Softball" by our head coach. Although not a school accomplishment, I have received invites to the USA Softball High Performance Program National Selection Event for both the 2022 and 2023 program years; for the 2021 program year, I was named to the North Texas Athlete Pool.
Track: Varsity Triple Jump and High Jump during my Sophomore year. District 11-5A Triple Jump Champion; 2nd place finish at the Area meet and Region II Meet Qualifier. District JV Triple Jump Champion during my Freshman year.
Volleyball: Outside Hitter and letter recipient. Competed on the Varsity and JV teams in my Sophomore and Freshman years, respectively. As a varsity player I was named to the 1st Team All-District unit, Academic All-District team, and was named District Co-Newcomer of the Year. I was also named Varsity Offensive MVP (Sophomore year) and JV Offensive MVP (Freshman year).
Away from the field I focus on my studies, with a schedule primarily comprised of honors and AP classes ... and try to be of service to others. Specifically, I have served on a stake-wide youth committee representing youth in my local ward; have assisted in the cleaning of our church building; and assisted coaches as a demonstrator at clinics for younger girls. I am active in the W. T. White Sprit Organization and am a student-member of the PTSA. Last, but not least, I value my relationship with friends, teammates and family.
Friends and teachers consider me to be a happy, fun-loving individual that is always wearing a smile. I can be shy at first ... but only for a few minutes. A fun fact about me is that I have attended circus skills camps and performed clowning and ariel stunts.
My goal is to play college softball while preparing for a professional life and would invite an opportunity to discuss your needs and how I might be able to help your team excel on and off the field.
