I have been playing softball for 12 years now, but I have been around it my whole life. When my older sister started playing, I was constantly asking when it was my turn to play because I wasn't old enough to play yet. I love playing the game. I take corrections from my coach and apply them to what I am working on. I do my best not only for myself, but for my teammates. I want to be able to look at them and say I gave 100% after every game. I know that I will have bad games, it happens to the best of us, but I don't let it get to me or reflect on my effort. I cheer on my teammates no matter what the score is.
I am willing to put in the work to improve my game. I work hard at practice and try to get a little better at each pitching lesson. I try to be a good role model for the younger girls playing softball, including my little sister who just started pitching. I help her when we are practicing in the back yard. I try to encourage her because I remember how difficult it was when I first started.
I take my grades very seriously. I was second in my class all through junior high. I turn in all of my homework on time. I also take advantage of every extra credit opportunity even if I don't necessarily need it. I am the first to ask a question if I don't understand something about one of our assignments. My classmates often come to me when they have a question, especially questions about math. I compete in several different U.I.L. events and work hard to represent my school well.
