Personal Statement
My name is Illeana Lopez and I am in the 2020 class of high school. I have been playing softball since I was 4 years old. I play softball for my high school and was a varsity freshman. I truly enjoyed playing for my high school team and being a part of a team that set school records; such as starting the district season with a 6-0 record and reaching the Area playoffs, the first in school history for softball. I also play travel ball with the Texas Bombers 18U Gold-HTX-Echols.
I enjoy singing and participate in my high school's choir. My goal is to enter the Health/Sciences field and study Nursing. Each of my three grandparents required either in-home or in-patient hospice care prior to their deaths and I truly admired the assistance and comfort the nurses provided to them that it has inspired me to pursue that career for myself.
I am a hard worker who will put in the extra work to succeed. Even as a freshman, the upper class players appreciated the enthusiasm that I brought to the field, dugout and the game. I will continue to bring that same enthusiasm at the collegiate level.
