Thankyou for taking the time to visit my profile. I find with looking at so many colleges, that I have to look for what makes each of them stand out. I figure you have to do that, too, seeing so many players try to acheive their goal of playing collegiate softball. So, what makes me stand out? I won't say I'm the best player you'll see, because with all the players who are serious about playing softball in college, I'm not. But, I do have something to offer that other players might not. When I was younger, I was often told that I was a very coachable player, who was very dedicated to not only the game itself, but also becoming the best player I could be. I remember one of my coaches (when I was playing travel ball for my school) Coach Johnson telling me, "The thing that will really set you aside from your teamates and help you go far in softball is how coachable you are." Because I have such a strong desire to succeed and play my best, I am always looking for what I could improve or do better. I appreciate any and all feedback I receive as I know it will only help me improve my skills. A few years ago I broke my arm and was out most of the regular season. I made sure that I went to every game and practice to support my team. I made sure to stay in shape and keep up with throwing and hitting. The week after I got my cast off, I was playing in games again because I had made sure to stay in shape while my arm healed. The following season in an assosiation meeting, The PCR director brought up that she wanted players to be fully commited before signing up. She used me as an example, that even though I was out most of the season, I was dedicated to my team and worked hard so that I could make the best out of my situation and get playing again. She went as far as to mention that a week after getting my cast off, I was back in the game playing and said "now that's dedication". So, if you were to ask me what I would say is my number one strength, I would say that I am driven. And because of that drive, I am also very coachable. Thankyou for taking the time to read my statement, I hope you consider me for your team!!
