Excelsior: adj., Latin - every upward, motto of New York State

Excelsior. Not only is this the mantra from one of my favorite movies of all time, "Silver Linings Playbook," it is the mantra by which I strive to live my life by. One can always keep on improving, not only on the field, but also in the classroom. This is one thing I can guarantee to you as a coach: whether it be in the classroom, or on the field, I will pour my heart and soul and all that I have into improving myself. For example, if you give me something I can work on, I will go over and above to hone that new skill and make it perfect. In the classroom, I won't settle for bad grades. I learn from my mistakes, and I improve upon it. In my future career of physical therapy, I won't settle for just rehabbing a patient until they are better, I will rehab them and help them to become better than they were pre-injury. What sets me apart is my drive. I don't expect things to be handed to me. I live for the challenge of having to work your butt off for something you want. It isn't always easy, but it makes you stronger in the end. I don't dwell on mistakes. I use them as learning opportunities, and help them to make me better. I use them to make me a better student or athlete, and to propel me ever upward. Excelsior.
