Thank-you for taking the time to read my profile thus far. My name is Navpreet K Boyal. My teammates and coaches call me Nav. I am entering my Senior year in 2018-2019. I am considered by my coach to be one of the hardest working players that she has ever coached. She has coached more than 13 players in her career that have garnered full-ride basketball scholarships in the US and Canada (one went to NCAA Final Four with Nebraska!!). My coach told me to start a profile immediately because she feels that I am more than deserving of a scholarship from Post-Secondary Institutions. I take pride in my work ethic on and off the floor. I like to play an uptempo game on both side of the floor. I was the team captain as a Junior for our Senior girls team last year.
I started playing basketball in grade six. I was late starting compared to many of my teammates due to my prior commitments to volleyball and soccer. My mother was a University Volleyball Player in India. Unfortunately, I didn't have the same passion for volleyball as she did! I immediately loved basketball because it was very challenging. I also enjoy the recognition I receive from opposing coaches and players who often pair me against their top defenders. This inspires me to work hard daily knowing that every game I am facing the other team's best player.
I pride myself in being a great teammate, student, daughter, and sister. I am focused and driven to meet my life goals I have set as followed;
- Garnering a full-ride basketball scholarship to a North American University
- Maintaining a high academic standing (honor roll)
- Obtaining a Bachelor of Arts
- After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts I want to get into a top Law School in North America
- Maintain my community service volunteering while at university and representing my school/teammates
I have been a member of the Senior girls basketball team at Khalsa Secondary School since I was a freshman. I have also been a starter in this time as well. I am a team player who likes to distribute the ball that will maximize my teams best chances to score offensively. I consider myself to be a great shooter with a competitive edge. I don't like to lose games, possession, and the ball ever! My personal stats are as followed;
FG%: 56.2
3PT%: 43.4
FT%: 88.4
OREB: 4
DREB: 6
TO: 3
A: 9
