My name is Ella Hoang and I am a 5'3 SF/SG (Class of 2027). Something that sets me aside from other athletes is my determination, hard work, and ability to go out of my comfort zone. I first started playing basketball for my school team in 8th grade. I tried something new and ended up becoming very invested in the sport. This was a huge learning experience for me ranging from learning how to be a good teammate to learning how to play the sport. I went from not even knowing how to dribble a ball or making a layup to being a starter for all my 8th grade school games. I was able to showcase my ability to go out of my comfort zone from starting with individual sports (gymnastics, karate, track) to doing a team sport that has a lot of physical contact. Although I did not do amazing during 8th grade basketball, I was able to learn and drive myself to become the best I can. While doing sports, I was able to keep my grades up and keep a 3.8-4.0 GPA. I am able to keep a a calm composure under stress which helps a lot if I am struggling with school or sports, I will always strive to do my best in sports and academics since I tend to be very competitive.
