Judy Pulido '21 Recruiting Profile

Passion,  self determination, humbleness and my height have guided me through my success. Passion is what makes me risk my body for the game I love. Passion is what drives me not to settle for less and helps push myself to out work my competitors. Self-determination makes me stubborn and hungry. Self-determination allows me to stop at nothing to prove I will go the extra mile to reach my goal. Self determination allows me not to cheat myself. It pushes me when my lungs are burning, my legs are getting heavier, and I'm gasping for air. Humbleness allows me to appreciate all the people who have supported me. Humbleness allows me to praise my teammates and coaching staff because without them I wouldn't be the player or person I am today. Humbleness allows me to be grateful and thankful for the skills and opportunities I have been blessed with. Last but not least my height I'm only 5’2’’ and almost always the shortest player on the court. But my height is what makes me have the biggest heart on the court and that killer mentality to do what I have to do in order to help my team be successful. 

As a player I have a quick first step that allows me to drive to the basket expanding my options to set up my teammates for an easy shot or to score. I am a selfless player and take pride in passing the ball to get an assist or I'm always on the ground trying to fight for a loose ball. I take pride in defense and use my quickness to stay in front of my man. My coaches have a lot of trust in me to rise when under pressure and I did not disappoint them. I am very coachable and will do anything my coaches ask of me. On and off the court I show my leadership by being a role model to the younger players and I push all my teammates to help better themselves.

Education is something I hold dearest because I know through education I can pave the life I want. I am an A student who occasionally receives B’s but I challenge myself through rigorous courses because I know the true value of education. I know if I continue to be successful in the classroom I will have the opportunity to attend a wonderful college or university that will then allow me to get  closer to achieve my academic goals. My dream will always be to play college basketball and basketball will always be in my heart. However education is number one so I'm hoping I will be able to go to a wonderful college or university and also continue to play the game I love.
