Jeda Taylor '24 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a sophomore in high school. I was a starting post player on the varsity team as a freshman. This year as a sophomore, I am a starter and I lead my team in points and rebounds and 2nd in blocks.  I am 5’11 and my doctor says i'll be 6'4".  I am a very smart player who understands the floor and I can run the floor with guard pace.  I am also a great defender.  I live for blocks (without fouling).  I had 10 blocks in one game and 7 blocks in the next game. I average 3.5 blocks per game.  I am one of our top defenders in the paint and can control the boards at all times.  I am also very good at grabbing the offensive rebound and going back up with it or getting defensive rebounds and getting it out to the outlets very well.  My footwork is impeccable, and I have a really good midrange shot. My shot fake and up and under in the paint is almost unguardable.  I have a dribbling skill set similar to a guard and can shoot the 3 better than most of the guards on my team.  I can get to the basket at will inside the paint.  I was an integral part of our team having a winning season last year.  As a freshman, I was relied upon heavily during our trip to the Division 1 LA City Championship game as well as the State Regionals game. I think that I am a great kid with a positive outlook on everything.  I have a great attitude towards learning and strive to be better everyday.  I workout everyday.  I have also taken players under my wing and made them better players as well. I lead both verbally and by example.  I have been playing for varsity in summer leagues since I was in the 7th grade.  I am going to be one of the best post player in California by the time I am a senior.
