My name is Marlow Baines, I currently am homeschooled and work for an organization called Earth Guardians. I have established two successful crews with Earth Guardians in Boulder and Longmont, and we're hoping to work with our school districts to get rid of single-use plastic water bottles in all schools. I am very passionate about speaking on our environmental conditions and how we can create a better future for all. This spring I will be talking to multiple schools about how kids can get involved and work to establish a better relationship with kids all across the state and the region.
I also love to write and am currently working on a fictional book about how youth can also create massive change in their community. I am very dedicated to my education and creating the best path for my learning, I look forward to waking up every day and working to better my knowledge of the world. It is the reason why I left my school and work every day so that I can be healthy and happy.
I began playing basketball before middle school because there was no feeling like playing a game of pick up ball with my friends. I then fell in love with the sport, and have been playing as competitively as I can ever since. In middle school, I made the A team every year and played YMCA league ball in the winter. Freshman year I made JV and swung up a few times, and this year, I dedicated a lot of time to practice and honing my skill and made varsity sophomore year. I have started a handful of times, and whenever I'm on the court I work to build my team up so that we can play to our best ability. Basketball has not only given me a feeling of purpose but it has also made me into the person I am today.
I look forward to talking to any basketball coaches in the future, thanks for reading!
