Anika Kinnear '23 Recruiting Profile

I work hard at being a leader on and off the court.  I love to put in the extra work and hustle every day in practice, in games, with my academics, and in my off court activities.  Being positive and having a "can do" attitude is powerful and has helped me reach new heights, and helps me in constantly striving to maximize my potential. Being the first one down the court on both offense and defense is often something I pride myself in.   Additionally, my tenacity to grow has allowed me to find the missing part of the team each year and do everything within my power to fill it, whether that be someone who comes down with every rebound, shoots reliably from both the mid-range and 3-point, isn't afraid to set non-stop screens, or help a teammate when she's down emotionally.

Whether on or off the court, I have a a strong work ethic that allows me to find ways to grow and be a part of many incredible organizations, clubs, AP classes, and varsity sports. My desire to grow, learn, and change applies to my academic path as much as it does my athletic path. I have always valued the importance of being a student-athlete, and with that have taken part in solely gifted and AP classes. Using my athletic and academic background, I strive to reach out and help as many people in my community as possible. This includes working with younger athletes on our campus during the off season to grow in their self-confidence and ability, tutoring students after school, entering a class that mentors freshman on campus, or photographing  overseas leadership conferences for the non-for-profit Global Partners in Hope. I want to help as many people as possible, in as many demographics as possible, and hope to use my collegiate athletic and academic journey to hone in on the career path that reflects that hope.
