~~My entire life I have been pushed to do and to be the best I could possibly be. To never settle, to never be satisfied with mediocre results. In everything I do I give it all, I have challenged myself in school as well in sports. I attend the best academic school in my area, there I take very challenging classes. Since the eighth grade I have been learning curriculum a year in advance. School has been in the forefront of my priorities. I hold myself to a certain standard to know that it is never good enough and that there is always improvement to take place. I carry that philosophy on the court as well. Not only have I placed myself in higher level classes to challenge myself I have played basketball with and against some of the top prospects for the Florida area, and I have always played up a year or two. I never want to be placed in a situation where something comes "easy" struggle encourages and motivates me to continue working so I know I am able to compete with the best girls. The last two varsity seasons I have played lots of minutes at the shooting guard. To help me become a more complete player in the off season or travel ball season I put myself in the position to play mostly point. This way I continue to mature and develop a more college ready game.
As a smaller guard I know I have to be able to do things more efficient and in a versatile way. Knowing this I have learned to become very discipline and smart player while I am on the court. It has never stopped me, as a guard I lead my team in rebounds this past season. I have instilled in myself that I am going to work harder than anybody I will challenge against, no one will ever go out with more heart than me. I have a passion for the game that many cannot understand. I have gotten in trouble by coaches over the years for smiling on the court. They have tried to beat it out of me, taking it as I'm not a serious or a competitive player. That is not true I just enjoying being out there and taking advantage of every opportunity I have with my teammates. I have the right attitude to get up and work as hard as I can to not only achieve my personal goals but to encourage my teammates to be the best they can be. It means a lot to know I have players who look to me for advice, guidance, and a coach who knows he can count on me to lead on the court.
