Lyric Coleman '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi. My name is Lyric Coleman. I am a 5'9" 2023 3/4 and I am interested in being part of your team. I didn't always want to play this game. I didn't know anything about it beyond remembering my Dad and the neighborhood guys spending lots of time out back on the court playing during the summer and fall.  In the 6th grade, I tried out from curiosity. It was my first time touching a ball, but I made the team. Thus began my journey.  I started to like it, so I continued to excel and ended up winning my 8th grade regional championship (after slightly missing it to the same team the year before. Revenge was so sweet.)  Since then, I have learned so much and grown to levels I'd never imagined. Today I am a team player who gives it all I've got, everytime.  I'm quite reserved and often misjudged, but once I step on the floor, that changes.  I enjoy defensive plays and I have a great eye. I understand the game of basketball, so I make good decisions. When I'm on the floor, things just flow smoother.  If chosen to be apart, I will only benefit the team. Furthermore, I am disciplined off the court as well. I have maintained honor roll my entire life and I am very coachable.  I go through the same things as the next person, however, I have the unique ability to keep calm and focus when it's needed the most.  Consider me a good addition to the team.  I look forward to hearing from you soon.  Thank you.
