I began the sport of basketball in the second grade. I began by getting an over-the-door basketball hoop. That following Christmas, I asked for a basketball goal and was able to get it. Toward the end of the second grade, I wanted to be on a team. So I found out that my church had a basketball team and I joined it. Every game I felt like I had to score at least once a game to know that I accomplished something. Once that season was over I just continued playing outside and couldn't wait until middle school started.
Middle school began and i was so excited because I could finally play on a team again. My 7th grade year we went all the way to the championship and won it. That was the best experience ever. Just being on top and taking home a trophy. My 8th grade year we finished in fourth and I came home with an all conference player award. Once the season was over I realized that it was time to start highschool, and this is where everything truley counted for me as a basketball player.
It was time to go about highschool and be the best athlete I could be. My freshman year I had played at multiple camps all summer and went to conditioning until the season started. Freshman year started and I was so ready to get it going. I was so proud of myself because I had made varsity as a freshman which was one of my accomplishments. Then sophmore year started and I played 5 games. My grades started shifting and I was sat down and didn't play for the rest of the season. My junior year started and I was ready to be back. We first played a scrimmage and I remeber making my first three in a year. My season high was 16 points,6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. It will soon be time to start my final seaosn as a highschool basketball player.
