Personal Statement

I have been playing basketball competitively since the 7th grade, but have been playing in our family's driveway with my sisters and my parents since I was 8 years old.  It wasn't until I reached junior high that I realized that I really wanted to play at the collegiate level.  I know that being able to play in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could potentially change my entire life.

I can drive the ball to the basket hard, I can shoot from just about anywhere on the court, I'm aggressive both offensively and defensively, I'm quick on my feet and I have a high basketball IQ.   I am a team leader and encourage my teammates both on and off the court.  I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits you'll find in my area.  My hard work, determination and skills lead to me being called up to play on my high school's varsity team my freshman year where I have been a 3 year starter.  I was voted team captain by my teammates and also was awarded team MVP  honors , WHIW Athlete of the Month in December 2018, and Kishwaukee River All Conference Honorable Mention for my high school team my junior season.  I have been playing AAU basketball each spring and fall for the past 3 years.  I am currently in my second season with the 17U IL Magic team.

In the classroom, I study very hard to maintain and improve my class rank as well as my GPA.  I also volunteer with our girls basketball feeder travel program and I am currently a member of Link Crew, where I mentor freshman and sophomores.

I want to attend a college where I can push myself both in the classroom and on the basketball court.  I am open to all options as I want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible.  I hope to continue to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents and family proud.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
