Hello, my name is Gerhyrah Emojoah Grant. I live in Joliet, IL and I play for Joliet Central. I am a shooting guard/ small forward/point guard. I’m 5'8 and 125 pounds. I’ve been playing basketball since I was in third grade. I have a great personality. I’m smart, generous, hard working and trustworthy. I love making people laugh and smile. I motivate people to be better. My strengths are my driving abilities, leadership, shooting range and passing. I can dribble and shoot with both hands. I’m a slasher, good passer and good free throw shooter. I can take over the point guard responsibilities, I create my own shot off the dribble and play great defense in any defensive system I'm place in. I shoot the 3 pointer as well. I also have great post up moves. I love to run fast breaks and feeding the ball to my post players and seeing the open players therefore I can get the ball up the floor fast. I’m basically a versatile player because I have played every position on the basketball floor except a referee.
My aspirations are to attend a well respected college or university to play basketball while receiving a great education in the process so I can move onto my adult career. I want to major in Business and Management. I would like to attend a college that have a great business program. I would like to play for a college who has a great dietitian program, the right equipment and a good athletic program to make me better. I am looking for a college who has a coach that can see my potential and make me a better player and a person. I feel like my coaches should be my mentors, therefore, I am willing to go wherever to find that college that is for me. My preference is to play Division I basketball for a college/university that will challenge me both academically and athletically, but I am open to playing for a top Division II, Division III and maybe a top twenty in the nation NAIA Woman college.
