Since I was little I have always been playing sports, always having a ball in my hand or running freely in the alley. Growing up with three brothers sports was bound to be a huge part of my life. It started out with softball when I was six and then I fell in love with playing tackle football for a park district nearby. When I aged out at fourteen years old I was so sad because I knew I needed a sport to play to keep me sane, and football was no longer an option. Lucky for me basketball worked its way into my heart. I have been playing since I was in fifth grade, and started playing competitively since eighth grade. It quickly became something I was passionate about, it was my thing. My training and fearlessness learned on the football field transferred onto the court and I became a great defensive player and gradually a more aggressive offensive one too. As I get further into my high school career, I am eager to see what is next for me, and how I continue to keep basketball with me after I graduate. Since eighth grade I have set out to do something with this sport that has had my back since day one. It has taught me so many skills that have helped me become a better leader and person on and off the court. This is why I hope to be able to continue to work day in and day out to move on and play at the collegiate level and be a part of yet another family.
