I’ve been playing basketball and soccer since I was a toddler. By the time I was in second grade, we set-up cones for dribble drills in the garage during Iowa winters and I started competitive club ball in third grade. Today, I’m a three-sport varsity athlete and strong student. I'm interested in attending an academically-strong college while also exploring opportunities to play ball while in college.
My ball handling skills, basketball IQ, and creativity on the court are all strengths. I’m a coachable athlete and believe that playing as a teammate – rather than individual highlights – helps everybody be better. And, since I play both soccer and volleyball, I have footwork skills that contribute to my basketball game. I love to win but have lots of experience with being on underdog teams – meaning I give 100% effort every time I step on the court or field.
Academics are important to me. My GPA is over 4.0 and I scored a 30 on the ACT the first time I took it my sophomore year. I’ll most likely pursue a college degree in a STEM -related field. I also believe in being a well-rounded person and am on Student Council, the Academic Team, I work part-time, and I volunteer every Saturday at the local food and clothing pantry.
