Kaely Hummel '16 Recruiting Profile

My passion is basketball. I have grown up playing the game, whether it be pick up games at the Wellness Center with older players or just working individually on my skills.  I have played competitively since I was in 4th grade. My goal has always been to play in college. I am looking for a college with a strong basketball program that will also challenge me academically.

I have been on the varsity team for 4 sports each of my school years. I have been put in the leadership role since I was a freshman. I lead, not only vocally, but by example. I have a strong work ethic, being the first one in the gym and the last one to leave. I attend all the voluntary summer sessions of fundamentals, SAQ, and weights so that I improve my athleticism everyday. I carry my work ethic from athletics to the classroom. I am taking college prep classes and will be taking some college courses when my schedule allows it. I am an excellent student who works hard, is not afraid to ask questions, and does what is asked of me by my teachers. I realize to reach my goals I must work hard on and off the court.

To be successful in life and basketball is all the same process. One must work hard, have a great attitude, and be coachable. I am all of these things. I am determined to be successful in life and basketball and will do whatever is asked of me to accomplish these goals.
