My name is Marlee Smith and I am a 5'8", 140 pound shooting guard/small forward from Boyle County High School. I am a three year Varsity starter entering my senior year this fall. This summer I will play AAU basketball for Coach Brad Mefford of Kentucky Premier.
During my high school career I have achieved the following accolades: freshman year I was nominated for 45th District Tournament Team, 12th Region Tournament Team, and All-Area honorable mention, where I averaged 14 points per game; as a sophomore I was selected team captain and team MVP, but unfortunately, into our 7th game tore my ACL averaging 22 points per game; as a junior I was once again selected as team captain, team MVP, 12th Region Tournament Team and I was the second leading scorer for Boyle County in scoring with 18 points per game and had a 48% field goal percentage.
I am a dedicated, versatile, and fierce competitor. Off the court, I have been training for the last three years to improve my strength, agility, and quickness. I have also attended several camps and clinics including Lindsey Wilson Skills Camp, Dick Baumgartner's Basketball Shooting Camp, UK Girl's Basketball Camp, Morehead State's Elite Camp, and Centre College Basketball Camp. I have also attended team basketball camp at Asbury and Morehead State.
On the other hand, academically, I have excelled in the classroom as well where I am ranked 5 out of 198 students with 4.03 GPA. After taking the ACT for the second time in March of 2015, I have a combined score of 33. I am an officer for our Fellowship of Christian Athletes club and am very active in the National Honors Society, as well as the Youth Leadership program.
