Personal Statement
I love this game. I have loved it as long as I can remember. I was five when my grandfather took me to my first gym and then my first UK men's game at Rupp Arena. What I love most about this game is the creativity I have learned to use. Craftiness, one of my strengths, has helped me learn to think outside of the box and to always be coming up with different solutions on the court as well as in the classroom and in life.
Some of my other strengths are having great court vision and a good basketball IQ. All of these things, I believe, have led to my greatest strength which is being a tremendous teammate. I don't believe there is any stat more important, and that is to be the best teammate possible at all times. I believe this game is meant to be played 5 on 5. When you truly love your teammates like family, amazing goals can be met. This is what I believe I can bring into your program to make an immediate impact. My skills, IQ, and court vision are only as good as they are because I have had the opportunity to work on them daily. After suffering a concussion my freshman year that lead to several overnight stays in the hospital, I learned that I can still fight back. My grades went down that year as a result of some neurological side effects but I am fighting everyday to stay healthy and make up any ground I can.
