Personal Statement

My collegiate goals and aspirations are to attend a school with a good Engineering or Health Sciences program, as this is my current interest.  Another one of my goals, which is just as important, is to play Varsity sports(Basketball or Track), in a competitive program, during my years in college. I want my college experience to be well rounded, academically, athletically and a overall good fit.

I am a good candidate for a college team because I love the game, I'm extremely competitive and I enjoy playing! I have been playing basketball since I was 9 and through out those years I have played about every position. I began running track during off season of my freshman year and  grew to like the individual competition of this sport as well. As a multiple position guard I am always mentally as well as physically playing while on the court.  I am a pass first guard, patient with the plays, providing strength on offense/defense and I have with quick hands and feet. I am very athletic with an aggressive style of playing that usually takes my opponents by surprise. I use my ability to jump, to rebound the ball very well and I use my speed to steal the ball. I understand the concept of "team", and as team captain, in both sports, my sophomore year, I learned how to set the tempo and when to step in and lead by example. The difference between me and other recruits academically, is that I am use to maintaining my grades while playing multiple sports. It has become second nature and a personal standard to work hard on and off the court. I also have a positive attitude, strong practice ethics and enough self-motivation to always stay positive and focused while encouraging my teammates to do the same. My favorite quote is: "The only person you have to be better than is the person you were yesterday.-Unknown". I believe all these aspects help make me a good candidate for any college team.

  • 2015-2016 Elizabeth Seton High School Basketball Season UPDATE
  • 12/04/15 to 2/28/16
  • Following careful thought and personal consideration, I withdrew from the team prior to the first season game. I had an awesome summer AAU season to reflect and base my continued recruitment processes from, so I chose to forego basketball this season and I am currently running track indoor and outdoor season and I also continue with my basketball workouts/skills practice with my AAU team. As a dual athlete, I am currently being recruited in both sports and plan to play one of the mentioned Varsity sports in college.

  • I was scheduled to play with my High School team, Elizabeth Seton HS. I am starting to schedule Fall visits and submitting applications.

Please let me know if you plan to attend so I do not plan a college visit on the same date.

  • Camp/Event
  • Peach State Basketball-Elite 32 Summer Jam One & Jam 2
  • 7/26/15 to 7/29/15
  • I will be playing with Team Sol/DC COBRAS (Junior Division), my Travel AAU team. My jersey number is 4. This has been a long AAU Summer and by the time I got to this tournament it was off of pure adrenalin! I was so excited to play with my travel team again. Our regular PG was out so I had to play PG the entire tournament and I had not practiced with them all season. It was quick learning and adjusting on my feet! It was some good competitive basketball and I had fun every minute of it. I normally play combo guard, so this gave me the opportunity to control the tempo of the game even more and it worked to our advantage. We made it to the semi-finals.
  • Camp/Event
  • GNBA ( Generation Next Basketball Association) Championships 16U
  • 7/23/15 to 7/25/15
  • This was the start of my TRAVEL AAU season with my other team. I played this tournament with Team SOL(Junior Division), under Coach Reese & Coach Anglin. We won the GNBA 16U Championship, in Baltimore, MD, with a 7-0 record!!! My jersey number is 4 with this team. Watch for us in Georgia next!!
  • Camp/Event
  • USJN
  • 7/22/15 to 7/25/15
  • NIKE event/ AAU- The Maryland Pride 17U (Bledsoe): Our team was moved up in the brackets for this tournament. We played really well, unfortunately we lost 3 games within the last two minutes within 5 points or less. This caused us not to make it into the Championship games on Saturday. I had really good games this tournament averaging 12-15 PPG. We won the game against the undefeated Illinois team. The game went into OT. We won this game by 1 point in OT.I had 22 points, 4 steals, 4 rebounds and 5 assist this game and 90% at FT. It was our most competitive game of the tournament! I made the NSP/DMV USJN All Star Team.

  • Camp/Event
  • TRACK & FIELD WCAC Championship
  • 5/15/15 to 5/16/15
  • Great Track meet! Team won WCAC Championship for the 9th consecutive year. My only event was the Long jump because my coach needed the points in field events, so this was my focus all season, to improve my jumping in order to place at Championship. I got 3rd place!
  • Camp/Event
  • TRACK & FIELD: Victor Calhoun Classic
  • 5/09/15 to 5/09/15

  • Camp/Event
  • Deep South Classic
  • 4/24/15 to 4/26/15
  • ASGR event/ AAU- The Maryland Pride 16U(Bledsoe): I was ready for the Deep South! Our first game was early in the morning after arriving after midnight. It showed in all of us. I played hard, the team was quick and full of shooters. The second game was much better. I was able to get quite a few steals and assists as well as keep up match up to the level of aggressive play. I played PG most of this game and was able to find some holes, get passes in to my team mates and rebound, rebound, rebound!
  • Camp/Event
  • New Jersey Sparks Classic
  • 3/27/15 to 3/29/15
  • AAU- The Maryland Pride 16U(Bledsoe): This tourney was the first of the AAU season for us. We didn't get a chance to scrimmage before the event, so it was definitely an opportunity for growth. I did well over all, and we played some tough competition all 3 games. I played the wing more in this tourney than usual as that is what my team needed at the time. My shots were good, but my personal evaluation is that I should have taken more shots. I will the next time.
  • Camp/Event
  • 695 Hoops Fall League
  • 10/01/14 to 11/02/14
  • Played with school Fall League, team Road Runner RED. I played SG/PG/SF, depending on what was needed for our team to win. We have played undefeated this season.
  • Camp/Event
  • Blue Chip Basketball's Fall Ball Classic
  • 9/27/14 to 9/28/14
  • Playing under high school coach Jonathan Scruggs, team Road Runner (RED)
  • Camp/Event
  • Blue Chip Basketball's Best of the Best
  • 9/26/14 to 9/26/14
  • Playing under AAU coach Tony Bledsoe & Mike Briscoe (MD PRIDE ). This was not the best game. I was really fatigued from just getting over the flu. I played through it, good defense, several steals. Offensively my strength wasn't there.
  • Camp/Event
  • US Junior Nationals 12U-15U/ (DC COBRAS AAU Travel)
  • 7/25/14 to 7/28/14
  • I played with my AAU Travel team this week, DC COBRAS 15U. Good first game; 6 pts, 2 steals, 4 assists! My job the following 3 games was to get the ball in quickly on offense and to shut down our opponents shooters, strong focus on defense. We made it to the semi-finals with a team of 6.
  • Camp/Event
  • US Junior Nationals DC 17/ (Maryland Pride 15U AAU)
  • 7/22/14 to 7/24/14
  • LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS!!!! Good games! Started all games...very competitive play! We played 5 games, I averaged 5 ppg, 3 steals and 4 assists.
  • Camp/Event
  • Battle of the Boro
  • 7/10/14 to 7/12/14
  • I started every game in TN. They were all good, physical, running games where we typically led the first half. Defense and offense was really good despite our final record. There was a lot of really good competition. Coaches used this opportunity to create and develop individual skill sets and improve our second half game rotation patterns. We definitely came away with this in a better place and ready for the USJN. We played 6 games during this tournament.
  • Camp/Event
  • AAU Showcase
  • 7/09/14 to 7/09/14
  • The original shootout was removed from our schedule and we played in a AAU showcase instead. It was an intense game against a number one ranked team from GA. I started, it was an aggressive game. Good game and great way to start our visit to TN.
  • Camp/Event
  • AAU Super Showcase
  • 7/05/14 to 7/08/14
  • This was my first time in Florida at Jostens Center. It was a great experience, some good competition. We played 7 games during this tournament at the Silver level. I averaged 4 ppg/ 4 assists/90%(7 points) free throw average at this tournament. I believe this tournament helped us grow as a team. Great experience.
  • Camp/Event
  • LOYOLA Women's Basketball Elite Camp
  • 6/29/14 to 6/29/14
  • This camp educated us on and off the court. A lot of focus was on how to prevent injury, nutrition and being prepared for college ball in the classroom as well as on the court. Great drill work out. My team went to the finals in the 3x3. We rotated position work outs so I was able to perform skill development in PG and SG positions. I met and worked with coaching staff and several girls on the team. Took advantage of the brief campus tour. Really enjoyed the camp.
  • Camp/Event
  • University Of Virginia Team Camp
  • 6/28/14 to 6/28/14
  • Team camp, playing on Elizabeth Seton RED- Varsity. Games are at 1pm, 4pm & 6pm. Great opportunity for extensive work on defense. Took advantage of this and pushed defensive skills to different level. Games were too close, so I did not get an opportunity to tour campus. Good camp experience.
  • Camp/Event
  • George Washington University Womens High School Elite Camp
  • 6/22/14 to 6/22/14
  • High School girls Elite Skills Camp, from 11am - 6pm. Chose to work with Shooting guards in this camp in an effort to get more attention. The point guard clinic was over crowded. Great experience and came away with positive feedback. Started every game with my team, aggressive play. Took the opportunity to tour the campus and to make great coaching contacts. This is my second year at GW camp, always enjoy it.
  • Camp/Event
  • Boo Williams Elite 64
  • 6/13/14 to 6/15/14
  • Camp/Event
  • Philly Belles's Tournament
  • 5/31/14 to 5/31/14
  • This was a last minute tourney that the team chose to attend. It was very intense, low scoring, and the first game went into OT. I started 2 out of the three games and excelled in my assist in all three.
  • Camp/Event
  • Deep South
  • 4/26/14 to 4/27/14
  • Camp/Event
