Katie Ogando '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Katie. I've been playing basketball since I could hold a ball and ever since I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. This sport means everything to me and more. I can bring a lot to the table but I'm also capable of admitting that I have a lot to work on as well and I can still improve in many ways. I have very good leadership and listening skills. I'm a team player. I love sharing the ball around with my teammates. I play at the 1 and the 2 but I can be where ever I am needed. I want to be somewhere, where I am wanted and feel nothing but good energy and vibes with not just my team but with also the school. Nothing is more important to me than my academics. I took an AP class this year to challenge myself more and because I love chemistry. I did very good and excelled greatly in the class. I also really love math and anything that has to do with numbers. For some reason I'm just naturally good at math and chemistry. I play other sports as well but my main focus is basketball. Being able to play basketball and go to school all at the same time would be a dream come true. I'm Dominican and Peruvian and have 2 siblings. It would be a dream come true to accomplish all my goals and be the first in my family to go to school and finish school not just with a degree but also being able to continue my passion for basketball.
