Personal Statement
Being the oldest of 5, my goal has always been to set a good example for my siblings. I carry that goal onto the court with me, having nothing but positivity and feedback for the other 4 players. As a captain this year, I have pushed myself even harder every day to make sure i’m leading by example and helping my team succeed. I set goals, and try my best to make sure everyone is better than the day before. The past 3 summers, I have attended several PGC basketball camps. The camps pushed me to be a better leader by showing me the importance of staying positive and really think through the game of basketball.
I have worked diligently to improve my grade point average after a not-so-favorable start to high school. Learning from my mistakes has always been a strength of mine and I know I will be successful in college as a result. As a senior,I have already earned college credits in math and education and not dental occupations. My grandparents and parents did not receive Bachelor’s degrees and it is my goal to be the first to do so. I want my degree to be in Dental hygiene so I can obtain a good career and be in something I love doing.
For all of these reasons, I think I would make a wonderful addition to a collegiate team. I look forward to learning both on and off the court and cannot wait to see what happens.
