I want to begin by thanking you for taking the time to view my profile. I know your time is valuable so I will give a straight forward answer of who I am and what I could offer your basketball team.
Academics
I take so much pride in my school work as a student athlete. Maintaining a high 4.1 cumulative GPA has always been very important to me, it keeps me eligible to play on the court and let’s me get the most out of my high school education, as well as setting a good example for my younger teammates. Playing basketball year-round doesn’t give me much time for homework. However, I understand the importance of it and manage my time wisely.
Athletics
Sports have always been a significant part of my life. I grew up playing sports consistently, such as softball, baseball, basketball, and running cross country and track. Basketball quickly became what I was passionate about and what I could excel at. As early on as the second grade I developed a true love for the game and knew that I wanted to pursue competing in basketball into high school and want to pursue it into college. I continue to play softball and run track and field competitively in my career as a student athlete. I also spend time lifting weights after school that contributes to my athleticism.
Accomplishments
I was honored to have received the highest two point field goal percentage as a freshman. I was also named on Southwest Missouri’s “Future 50” by the publication SWMO Basketball. My sophomore year I was awarded “Most Charges Taken.” I am looking forward accomplishing great things my senior year.
Determination
Playing varsity as a freshman last year does not leave room for mistakes. I was honored that I was given the opportunity to contribute my abilities at the varsity level to my team, but I also understood that there was someone there to take my place if I could not fulfill what our teams coach was asking of me. While I play, rather it be school ball or travel ball, I always put emphasis on the determination and hard work I bring to the court. I always find a way to contribute to my team. If I am not scoring in a game I will always make that up by rebounding, blocking out, and looking to get others open with screens or passes. I have strong physical defense and I am always diving after loose balls. When I play my goal is always to leave everything on the court and to repeatedly find new ways to improve as a team.
Teamwork
I have a strong understanding of the power of teamwork. I have a very “team first” mentality. I realize that it takes a whole team to compete in games and every teammate contributes their own abilities to the game. This year as a sophomore I stepped up into a starting role and a expectation of being a leader to my younger teammates, that I enjoy fulfilling.
