Alys Spring/Summe...Personal Statement
I am a student-athlete who strives for excellence on the court and in the classroom. My International Baccalaureate Diploma candidacy, 4.31 (of 4.8) cumulative GPA, National Honor Society membership, and HOBY Leadership Award nomination signify the importance I place on my education and character. I also value giving back to my community and helping those less fortunate as an active member of the National Charity League, a philanthropic organization committed to community service, leadership development, and cultural experiences. These qualities, as well as my strong work ethic, positive attitude, mental toughness, and commitment to being a team player, are just some of the attributes that make me a successful student and an asset to my teams.
In addition to playing for, Bedford High School, the top-ranked girls basketball team in NHIAA Div 1, I feel honored to have had the opportunity to play AAU basketball for the New England Crusaders EYBL team in my sophomore year and, again this Spring, in my junior year. I'm beyond grateful to be coached by experienced, knowledgable coaches, playing with amazingly talented teammates, and competing against some of the most elite teams in the country.
