Hey there! I’m Kasey Eaton, a junior at Wayne Central Senior High School in Ontario, NY. To start, my favorite thing about basketball has always been how it brings girls closer together. When I started in 4th grade, we just put together a small AAU team and went from there. But now, these girls are like my sisters and I hold them with so much respect. I think that’s what puts me above other recruits. Sure, I may need to work on my confidence in the game a little bit, but I will always put character above anything else. If there is a problem on the team, I will address it and make sure we all can exist peacefully. I always try to hype people up and bring the energy. I was so honored to receive the Best Teammate Award on my team last year (voted). And that directly goes along with the coach I am looking for; I need someone that won’t put up with negativity. I see my role on my team as the playmaker. I’m constantly trying to scan for what pass I can get or what open look there is. Sometimes, for me, and open shot isn’t the best shot when there is a more open shot. The final aspect of my game that I pride myself on is my hustle. There will always be bruises on my legs from diving on the floor or scrambling for the ball. In conditioning at practice, I will always give 110%, no matter how tired, no matter how sore. I’m looking for a coach that is going to harp at us during practice and correct me if I am not doing something right. I want to play the game the way it’s meant to be played. Academics is also a fundamental part of my life. I am looking for a school that will challenge me and my desire to work hard. I really would like to play the sport I love at the higher level, and any opportunities are appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my statement.
