Zahara Gerald '24 Recruiting Profile

Sports have always been an important part of my life. Starting on recreation teams with track, cheerleading, soccer and basketball to varsity in high school and ultimately my dream to play in college. Although I have played many sports, once I picked up a basketball, my passion grew, and the others faded away. Playing sports has taught me lessons that I have and will continue to use in everyday life. I am looking forward to joining a team where I can contribute and make an impact on my team’s success. I am focused and energetic on and off the court. I am intelligent with a high basketball IQ, competitive, organized and committed to both my academic and athletic responsibilities. I believe my athleticism and leadership skills will contribute to any team I am fortunate to become a part of. I work hard on both ends of the court, but take pride in constantly perfecting my defense, as defense wins championships. 

Academics are very important to me. My parents have always stressed the importance of continued learning and education. They are my biggest support and inspiration. I have been taught to give 100%+ in everything I do. I excel in the classroom taking AP and honor classes. My grades are a top priority and I have been on the A/AB honor roll since kindergarten. It was a learning process balancing being a student athlete, but I have and will continue to manage my time wisely to become successful. I would like to pursue a major related to business, but I know this may change as my interests grow.
