My name is Morgan and I am a Senior at Rolesville High School where I am a 4 year starter and co-captain of the women's varsity basketball team, and a member of the lacrosse team. I have also participated as a member of the cross country and track teams and I was selected as captain on both. I am a member of the student council and I am currently enrolling in other groups such as the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), the honor society, and I was named recognized as an Outstanding African American Student in waje county. During High School Career I have managed to maintain a high GPA. I am an active member of The Fountain of Raleigh Church and a member of the children's choir.
I am a 2 time All Conference player, the Honor Scholar Award winner, 4 time All Academic Award for the Greater Neuse River Conference (2014 & 2015),Greater Neuse River Conference Sportsmanship Award (As a freshman 2014), and the Greater Neuse River Conference . I also play on the Tri-City Pirates , and Triangle Tarheels AUU team as the the point guard, shooting guard, and small forward, and power.
I am an aspiring engineer with strengths in mathematics and science. I am hoping to learn how engineers use these principles and then integrate them into designs. The fundamental principles that are applied to products and structures; I would like the opportunity to continue this study.
On the court I pride myself on the ability to play multiple positions and I work hard at both ends of the court. On my high school team, I play the guard positions mainly with some small forward duty. On my AAU team, I am asked to play a lot at the small forward, power forward, and some center/5. I feel comfortable both facing the basket or with my back to it. While I have not put up big numbers offensively or defensively, I believe I make any team I am on better with my multi-position, defensive, and ball handling ability. I am a player that you want on the court when it matters most (Crunch time, defensive stop). While I am not very verbal, I lead by the way I carry myself on the court and off but, I do get my point across to teammates and opponents.
My High School team plays in one of the toughest and most competitive 4A conferences in the state. has come a long way from our first year. This year we finished 16-11. While we didn't achieve a conference or state championship, we were competitive and battled many of the best teams in the state and had some great wins. Individually, I had career highs in all categories but assist. In the conference, I was in top 6 in points, rebounds, field goals made, and steals (top 10 in blocks). This was achieved in a season where I was asked to sometimes play the 4, and 5 position. Besides being out sized many times, I averaged a double double 4 of the last 5 games.
