Reese Mensinger '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Reese Mensinger. I am a 5'8" Point/shooting guard. I've played varsity basketball since my freshman year and have made significant contributions. I was second in Pennsylvania for 3 point field goals made. I also scored 461 points this season. I was a first team all-conference selection. These are all great accomplishments, however I pride myself most about what I do in the classroom. I've maintained a 4.0 GPA and currently have a 1150 two-part SAT. To me, being a great basketball player is much more than just statistics. I lead by word and example every time I step on the court. Each time I step in the gym I work harder to be better than I was yesterday. This mentality will not only help me reach my personal goals, but my team as well. I know this year we are the best team in the state and we will continue to work like that every practice, repetition, scrimmage etc. I look to bring my high athletic ability and strong leadership qualities to which ever college I choose. What I am looking for in a school to continue my academic and athletic career are specific. First and foremost the academic standard needs to be very high. As of now, I am unsure of my major, however, I am leaning toward the health science field. Secondly, I want to attend a school where I can play early and make my presence known. I will continue to be a leader and make plays at the college level. Location will also play a role in my decision. I would prefer to end up somewhere in the northeast part of the country, however if athletic and academics align, distance will play a lesser role. All in all, I am optimistic of my future and am eager to bring my talents to the next level.
