Basketball first became a big part of my life when I started playing in third grade at the Boy's and Girl's Club. I never gave any thought to participating in sports, but many friends joined and asked me to play with them, so my parents, of course, forced me to play. I will admit this, I did not enjoy it one bit. Though I was one of the tallest, I was horrible and looked like a clumsy, uncoordinated child. After a year, I got the hang of the sport and became a true leader on the court. This was the first time I actually felt comfortable with myself and felt like I actually belonged somewhere. This is why I long to play basketball in college and for as long as I can, I actually fit in. Getting into college is my biggest goal. I want to inspire others who aren't as fortunate as others. I believe that my preferred study in college will be good for me. I would like to be an English major, and hopefully write, maybe inspiring others to pursue their dreams, just like I am doing.
