I find a way to win. Winning the 2018 State Championship in U.I.L. Tennis, earning gold medals with my doubles partner, and being named Tennis Co-Athlete of the Year for Conferences 1A through 4A by the Texas Girls Coaches Association is my greatest athletic accomplishment so far. We found a way to win. Also, I am proud to have advanced with two of my high school teams to play in the championship matches at both the U.I.L. Regional Volleyball Tournament and the U.I.L. Regional Basketball tournament. I have worked hard helping my teammates find a way to win and our efforts have been rewarded. Recently, our volleyball team advanced to the State Tournament for the first time in school history. Earlier this year, our basketball team also advanced to the Final Four and played in the State Tournament. What a thrill it was to compete against the best athletes in Texas!!! This experience has taught me about teamwork, leadership, and how to push myself to accomplish more than I believed possible. I was proud to represent myself, my family, my school, and my community and honored to be a member of the teams that made the deepest run in the playoffs in school history. Knowing that my teams have the ability to advance to the state tournament drives me to work even harder to reach this ambitious goal and to prepare myself for the demands of the upcoming season. I also qualified for the 2017 U.I.L. State Tennis Tournament in girls doubles. My partner and I earned medals by taking 3rd place. Working to compete at the State level has challenged me to grow as a person, helped me understand commitment, and given me a full appreciation of the effort required to become a champion. I will continue working to find a way to win. My work ethic in the classroom matches my work ethic in sports. I am proud that I have maintained all A's in all of my classes. I am taking the most advanced classes offered at my high school and am excelling in all of them. I am pursuing a S.T.E.M. endorsement and pleased that I obtained special permission to accelerate my coursework. This will enable me to take two years of A.P. Calculus while still in high school. These classes will help prepare me to continue my study of math and science in college. My strong academic foundation helps me find a way to win. Also, I am proud to be a member of one of the top high school bands in Texas. An accomplished french horn player, I was selected the top female musician for my class. I earned fourth chair in the All Area Band when I auditioned for the All State Band and I have qualified to compete at the State Solo and Ensemble competition. While I am proud of what I have already achieved, I will continue working to reach my goals and I am fully prepared to elevate my efforts in order to surpass each accomplishment. I will continue my efforts to excel in every contest I enter. Therefore, I will keep working as I find a way to win.
