I have played the game of baseball since I was 5 years old. My brother and I share the passion and love for the game so baseball has always been what my family does together. I also love working with my coaches and teammates to grow in skill and leadership on and off the field.
The single most important event that has influenced me as a person and athlete was my dad being diagnosed with esophageal cancer 2 years ago. It was the first time I had been faced with a tragedy that affected my family and my personal world as I knew it. I had to mature quickly so that I could step in and fill a role that my dad no longer could. This helped me also grow as a leader and to achieve my goals to make my dad proud.
My ultimate goal is to combine my love for baseball and my desire to work in either criminal justice or agriculture. I feel this will be best done by playing ball at the collegiate level while working toward my degree. I am definitely ready to face the challenge if given the opportunity.
