I consider myself a late bloomer. I did not start becoming serious about the game of golf until the summer before my freshman year of high school. Since that summer in 2014, I have dropped over 10 shots per year to get to my current average of 79.3. Having recently completed my junior season, I was named Most Improved Player and held the lowest stroke average on my team. During this current winter practice season, I have earned the nickname of the "Grinder".
My high school, Indianapolis Cathedral (the only Blue Ribbon High School in the State of Indiana), is known for it's demanding academics. I have successfully maintained a 3.89 GPA while taking a mixture of Honors, IB and AP classes. Attending a private institution allows me to express my love towards the service of others. Last spring break, I received the opportunity to accompany my classmates on a mission trip to South Carolina. It was the most rewarding experience of my life and I am continuing my service to others by going on a trip of a lifetime this coming June to help the children of Tanzania, Africa.
I am looking for a school that will allow me to continue to grow my passion for the game of golf. I seek a program that gives me the opportunity to challenge myself to become the player that I know I can be. In addition to my athletic aspirations, the institution that I search for will challenge me academically and fulfill my calling to help others.
