Personal Statement
I have always enjoyed school. The reason is because I can confidently say that I have a balance in both academics and golf. Many may not be as privileged as I am. I have to thank my dad and my high school teachers for being very supportive in terms of giving me the flexibility of juggling between my school work and golf training.
I do look forward to tournaments as I get to meet my other circle of (golf) friends. I represented my school at various levels of tournaments – district, state and national as well as international. I have won many tournaments but there were also times where I did not make it to the podium. That did not stop me from playing better. Coming from a family where all family members (my dad and my two other siblings), except my mom, play golf, it was an advantage for me. We usually have post-mortem sessions after each tournament, regardless of the score.
From these experiences, I learned the value of commitment, self-determination and also teamwork. I am looking for a university which has the platform for me to excel both in my academics and golf.
