Hi, my name is Taylor Raffety and I am a senior at Three Forks High School. I plan to study Civil Engineering upon graduation and also hope to golf at the next level because I want to continue playing the sport I love while going to college.
I am looking forward to my senior golf season that will begin in less than a month as our season is in the spring. I have been working very hard this winter with a local golf pro to improve my swing and consistency in a golf simulator. I feel very fortunate I have had this opportunity since the weather in MT does not make it possible to get out on the golf course to play in the winter months.
I started golfing my freshman year and have seen significant improvement since I began playing. I love golf because it is both a team sport and an individual sport and the harder I work the greater the rewards are. This past year, I was team captain of our varsity as well as Team MVP and helped our team to a first place finish at Divisionals which has been a highlight of my career so far. I have also been selected for the Academic All-State award every year of high school which I am very proud of.
Outside of playing golf I also have a love for hunting and fishing. I am fortunate to live very close to many opportunities to do both. There is a lot of responsibility and patience required with both of those activities. These characteristics have also helped me become a better golfer.
I work very hard to be the best athlete, student, and individual I can be. I am very organized and always have everything done well ahead of time. I have had a competitive drive and pushed myself to excel since a very young age. For example, I began playing the fiddle competitively at five years old and continued over the next six years. The fiddle requires a lot of dedication as it is something you must practice very often to excel at. I have also played many sports growing up including: soccer, softball, volleyball, basketball and track. However, golf has been the sport that keeps me coming back day after day because of the improvement I see every time I play.
