I have completed my first year at Sandhills Community College where I am on the Women's Golf Team. Our team went to the NJCAA National Golf Championship in June 22 where I won the NJCAA Division III Women's Individual Golf Championship. I've been playing golf now for almost six years. I've always participated in various sports while growing up. Out of all the sports I’ve had the opportunity to play, golf has been the one to truly capture my heart. I’ve played recreational golf with my dad for a long time, but I began to get serious about the sport six years ago. I started playing in Peggy Kirk Bell and Tarheel Youth Golf Association Tournaments. I also started training with a TPI certified golf coach. His knowledge and coaching style has impacted my game and technique tremendously. Being in Pinehurst at Sandhills has also afforded me the opportunity to greatly improve my game as I have been able to work with specialty coaches as well as my head coach. I've always said that I was going to be in the LPGA as a kid. I continue to strive for this goal on a daily basis. I believe the strongest part of my golf game is my athleticism and ability to pick up new techniques very quickly.
I am a very hard-working, goal-oriented, and determined person. I take great pride in all the work that I've put in both school and golf. Another thing that you should know about me is that I have maintained a 3.9 GPA while at Sandhills. While I aspire to be on the LPGA tour, I also am pursuing a career in Business.
I love being on a team with other hard-working individuals that love the game of golf. I've always been known as a very outgoing and spirited individual. I try to bring positivity and joy to whatever team I play on. I also show leadership and determination towards my team and my golf game. One of my favorite sayings that my father taught me growing up was “mind over matter”. I plan on continuing to pass on that message in all areas of my life. I am looking to transfer to a 4 year University in Fall 2023 to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Business. I want to continue to play golf and if given the opportunity to play, I'm looking for a D1 or D2 university, I will make the most of it and bring our school to great success.
