Hi, my name is Abigail Schneider. I attend Saint Mary’s Central High School in Bismarck, North Dakota. I have been playing golf for as long as I can remember. Once I began middle school I felt a spark while playing golf, it was then I realized that I want to play this sport for the rest of my life. I have played golf at the varsity level since my 8th grade year. Ever since that year, I became the leader of my team which brought many responsibilities that I knew I was up for. I began taking lessons from many different swing coaches over the years. One for instance being my swing coach as of now Tim Doppler and Mathew Mullally. I have qualified for the state tournament both my freshman and sophomore years so far. This year (sophomore year) i made the all-conference team as well as all-state team placing 9th at the state tournament with scores of 79 and 80. I plan on continuing to work to improve my scores as I continue with my high school career in dreams of playing golf in collage.
I have learned that this sport isn’t for the weak of heart. It takes true passion, confidence, and a very very strong mentality to excel at golf. As the leader of my team I have taken the responsibility to not only help myself be a better golfer but help out my teammates. I have gotten extremely lucky to be able to play golf for Saint Mary’s because I have made some of my best friends from golf, and every year I feel as though our team becomes more of a family. My goal throughout high school is obviously to become a better golfer but also to radiate the love that my teammates have shown me and help them to achieve their dreams as well.
Academically I have always had a dream to be in the medical field. I aspire to help others just as they have helped me. I hope to finish high school with a 4.0 and continue to be on the National Honor Society. Though in collage I would like to challenge myself even more. I want to attend the collage that best fits me, my academics, my goals in golf, and just overall my personality. I have played many sports over the year mostly focusing on golf but it has truly surrounded me with great people who have a mindset similar to mine. My parents deserve most of the credit though. Without them I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish all of the things I have all with keeping God by my side. Thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day.
