Personal Statement

I have always dreamed of playing golf at the collegiate level. I am happiest when I am on the golf course, and I would like to experience that feeling all throughout college. I am a great candidate for an opportunity to play because I don't only want to improve myself, but to be part of a team and contribute the best that I can. I am well-rounded. My schoolwork and performance on and off the course are very important to me. My goal is to succeed and do the best that I can in all aspects of life. I would like to reach one of these goals by playing golf in college.

  • 5/28/16 to 5/29/16
  • Scores: Day 1- 85, Day 2-83
  • Camp/Event
  • IGA Age Group Championship
  • 6/24/15 to 6/25/15
  • This two day tournament was mediocre for me. I shot a 93 on this first day, and a 94 on the second. This was my first two-day tournament.
  • Camp/Event
  • Canal Winchester Invitational
  • Score: 84. I was impressed with my score for this particular round. Although I struggled with putting and approach shots, I was able to get off the tee and score well. The weather was not ideal but my team and I got through it. There were scattered showers throughout the day. The greens were fast, but I was about to keep a little higher than a 2 putt average. Earlier in the week, I was struggling with my irons, and this showed on course. Overall, I am happy with my round.
  • Camp/Event
  • OCC #1
  • Score: 82. Today was very long. We teed off at around 11:00am, played 9 holes, and then there was a rain delay for an hour and a half. Then, we went back out to finish. The weather was not terrible while playing, although it did rain a lot, so the course was softer than for our wave of players than the others that went off earlier. The highlight of my round was that I had 29 putts which is the lowest that I have ever had in a round! Today was great!
  • Camp/Event
  • Gahanna Invitational
  • Score: 88. This course was very challenging. Again, I was having trouble with my driver. Jefferson was filled with fescue and water on the course. I managed to get stuck in the fescue. Because it was part of the course, I struggled with getting the ball out of it. This costed me a lot of strokes. But, I did get a lot of practice out of the thick grass! Other than this, my game was average. The weather conditions were just right. It was sunny with blue skies the entire day.
  • Camp/Event
  • Olentangy Invitational
  • Score: 77. This was a great round for me. Although I did have trouble off of the tee, I managed to make 5 birdies. This was the most I had ever made in a round. The conditions were perfect for golf. It was very hot. The greens were extremely fast, but I was able to adjust. Oakhaven is a short course at around 5100 yards. Overall, it was a good day on the course.
  • Camp/Event
  • District Championship
  • Score: 86. This was the first time that Hilliard Davidson's lady golfers had ever been to Districts. I feel honored. But, my game was not working. On the front, I shot a 39, but I seemed to lose my focus when I got on the back 9. Looking back on this, I am even more determined to go to Districts again and redeem myself. My ultimate goal is to make it to the State Championship and do my best.
  • Camp/Event
  • Fall Classic
  • Score: 88. This was the first time that I played this course. My putting did not seem to work.
  • Camp/Event
  • Sectional Championship
  • Score: 78. In this tournament, I led my team to the District Championship. Everything seemed to be working for me that day. My GIR was over 50% and I was making putts. In sectionals, my team got 2nd overall.
  • Camp/Event
  • Superintendent's Cup
  • This was the tournament between all of the Hilliard high schools. I shot a 38, at second place. I made an eagle 2 from 130 yards out. I will always remember that shot! It was a great experience. My team won.
  • Camp/Event
  • Marysville Invitational
  • Score: 81. My school team won this invitational. I was content with my overall performance. It was easy to focus, and my shots seemed to be really good.
  • Camp/Event
  • Canal Winchester Invitational
  • Score: 82. I made a couple birdies and maintained a good par streak for a while on the back. I could've done better with my tee shots.
  • Camp/Event
  • Bexley Invitational
  • Score: 89. This was my first time playing this course. The rest of my team struggled, also. Overall, I was content with my score because I placed well, and my teamed placed 2nd. I thought my putting was great. That is what saved me a lot of strokes.
  • Camp/Event
  • Ohio Capital Conference #3
  • Score: 86 This was my first time playing this course.
  • Camp/Event
  • Ohio Capital Conference #2
  • Score: 96. I did not perform to my best potential on this day. I struggled with my approach shots and putting. My driver was not consistent. Nothing really worked.
  • Camp/Event
  • N.U. Invitational
  • Score: 86
  • Camp/Event
  • Olentangy Classic
  • After moving, this was my first tournament in Ohio. I shot an 86. A lot of things seemed to be going well. I struggled with my approach shots, but was able to sink the critical putts.
  • Camp/Event
  • IGA Tournament
  • This was not a good day for me. I shot a 97. When looking back at my scorecard, I noticed that I was turning easy par putts into bogeys or double bogeys.
  • Camp/Event
  • Junior Girls State Championship
  • This tournament was sanctioned by the Indiana Golf Association. I shot a 94 on this day. I was not focused, and I was missing many putts from 5-10 ft.
  • Camp/Event
  • E.I.A.C. Conference Tournament
  • In this conference tournament, I shot an 82 and was rewarded 3rd place in the conference. This was my personal best of my sophomore year.
  • Camp/Event
  • Ripley County Tournament
  • This was a County Tournament with 5 different teams. I shot a 46 for 9 holes, and came in 5th place and made the All County Team. But, I was struggling with putting.
  • Camp/Event
  • Greensburg Invitational
  • Score: 90
  • Camp/Event
  • E.I.A.C. Conference Tournament
  • Score: 96; All Conference 12th Place
  • Camp/Event
  • North Branch Summer Junior Tournament
  • Only 9 Holes. Score: 43

Training

  • I have been taking swing lessons.
  • 5 years
  • Also, to keep in shape in my early years of training, I was involved in basketball, and cheerleading, along with golf. I also work out at the local gym and I make it to the range around 3 times a week.
