Personal Statement
Hello coaches,
My name is Jessica Ponce, and I am part of the graduating class of 2019 at International School of Beaverton in Beaverton, Oregon. I play for the girls varsity team at Westview High School. My team and I have maintained top positions at the State for the last three years with a State title in 2017. Individually, I´ve placed in the top ten throughout my high school career with a second place position in 2017. Outside high school, some of my accomplishments were representing Pacific Northwest for the Girls 14-15 in the 2015 Drive,Chip and Putt Championship at Augusta National which I placed fifth. I represented Oregon in the IMG World Champioship in 2015, 2017, and 2018 at San Diego, California. I have also had the privilege of being part of Team Oregon in the 2018 32nd North Pacific Jr. Ladies Team Matches.
I have a solid swing along with great touch on and around the green. I am able to keep my focus throughout an entire round and I understand the importance of every shot. What sets me apart from other players is my coachability and desire to improve. Along with athletics, academics are very important to me. I have maintained over 3.6 while taking all IB classes.
My goal in college is to be the best student and athlete that I can be. Thank you for taking time to look at my profile.
