I strive to improve my game every day to become more balanced as a player and as a person. Hello, my name is Riley Hackett, I'm a class of 2023 player, intend to graduate college around 2027 and am looking to transfer in 2025. I am willing to take every moment to develop skills, even in a tight moment I am able to fill in a role. Due to this fact I continue to change positions on the court. I pay attention to all the position’s skills and apply those ideas to the game to help the team. As well, I love to cheer on my teammates no matter the circumstance. This past year I played for Juniata College and won the Division 3 National Championship award. I learned a lot from these players and made a point to ask questions as well as improve. I was involved in the Athena Volleyball Club, and I played volleyball during the Highschool season at Westview High School a 6A sports school. Still, I participate in extra clinics to improve my sense of the game and techniques. I definitely ask questions to understand the game at a higher level and apply any information a coach gives me in order to improve. Also, I love to contribute back to the game by coaching younger players and at some point, in time I want to coach volleyball.
In addition, I attended school at the International School of Beaverton, a fully IB program that revolves around the DP program. Moreover, I was involved in multiple different clubs to build my personal skills. This includes National Honor Society, National Chinese Honor Society, National Art Honors Society, National Charity League, and NSSHS. Including these clubs, I am also learning Mandarin, Chinese, to develop my world and societal understanding. Because of these skills introduced by academics and clubs, I am more prepared for my future and am able to adapt due to these experiences.
