Gigi Merino '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi everyone! My name is Geneva (Gigi) Merino and I am a competitive golfer. I am 17 years old, and will be graduating in the year 2024. I have been golfing ever since I was seven years old, but I seriously got into the game and became competitive right before my Freshman year of high school. I love the bonds and memories the sport has given, and so much so that I would love to make more memories playing at a collegiate level. I have also been named captain of our golf team for my Senior year. My determination and courage has led me to dropping my score from over 100 strokes during my Freshman year, to low to mid 80s by the end of my Junior year, and I am looking forward to dropping my score even further. I play in the Buckeye Junior Golf Tour, as well as the Philadelphia Junior Golf Tour. I also play in a local golf league called York County Junior Golf Association (YCJGA). I have maintained an overall GPA of around 3.7, while participating in many extracurriculars and a part time job. I have been constantly working on my game and am excited to see where my golf future takes me. Thank you!
