PERSONAL STATEMENT

Hello, I am Isabella Shannon and I am in the graduating class of 2027. My GPA is a 9.78 out of 10.00 (Mexican School System). I have been playing golf since I was 7 years old and am playing competitively for 6 years now. Ever since I started playing tournament golf, I enjoyed the feeling of competing with other players and had the desire of getting better each time. At the very start my goals were getting into the top 3 positions, eventually, they became about reaching 1st place. These past years I’ve played in various tournaments and have been improving my scores. My best score in a tournament so far has been a 67 in a U.S kids World Sinaloa Local Tour Qualifier for the 2022 US Teen World Championships. Due to moving onto longer distances my average score is currently 78 and my current USGA Ghinn H/C is 0.0 and I am still working on improvement  through hard work and focussing on the right things to improve. I now participate in U.S Kids Mexico tournaments, and various Mexican Junior Golf Tour’s. I've represented my Province Zona Pacifico at the Lorena Ochoa National Interzonas this year and enjoyed it so much as  normally I play as an individual and this was a team competition. The enjoyment of having my teammate's to cheer me on and I them was a great experience. I regularly put in hours on and off the golf course to improve my skills . This includes working on the range, improving my short game, frequent workouts, stretches, basic TPI and work hard on keeping a good attitude on the golf course.

Besides golf, I enjoy reading books about fiction and self-improvement, drawing art, traveling to Europe to see my relatives in Ireland, going for coffee with friends and family, playing video games and computer programming. My goal is to graduate from college with a degree in Computer Science or in Game Design and to compete at a high level of college golf.  I really want to experience the team atmosphere that comes along with it Univerdity golf and help win tournaments.
