My name is Taylor Schubert, and I am a third year forward out of Calgary, AB, currently playing with the U18 Rocky Mountain AAA Raiders. I have been playing AA hockey for the past 3 years. My second year I played with the U15 Calgary Fire, where Covid-19 cut our year short right before provincials, my first year U18, I played for the Calgary Fire AA Red, where Covid-19 also cut our year very short, and my second year U18 with the Calgary Fire AA White, where we went on to go 5-0 in the Provincial Championships, and leave with gold, and scored the game winning goal in both semi finals and the finals. That Provincial Championship win was the 3rd Provincials win of my hockey career. I am a reliable player who always comes to play with consistency, and passion. I have been playing hockey for 8 years, which has helped build my hockey IQ, and the way I can handle myself and help settle others in stressful situations. I am able to quickly read the play, and make a quick, smart decision under pressure.
Hockey is my passion and has been part of my life since I was very little, and want it to continue to be part of my life. My goal is to play hockey at a post secondary level, and continue growing in the game. After my career, I hope to be involved on the other side of the bench, and share my passion and knowledge of the game to other girls. I have always been told I am a very coachable player, and will give 100% into anything I do, and make sure I do it with hard work and dedication. In the 2021-2022 season, I was named "The Most Dedicated Player", from my coaching staff on the U18 Calgary Fire AA at the end of the year banquet for the annual Calgary Fire banquet. I am willing to put in the effort both on and off the ice to become a better player and person.
I also take my roll as a student very seriously and have been able to manage the roll as a student and athlete with a very busy hockey schedule. I would like to study Criminology or Psychology in my post secondary career. I have been an honour roll student since grade 7 all the way through 11, for both semesters since, and am working to be part of it for both my grade 12 semesters. I have a strong work ethic, and work very hard to maintain my grades with my hockey schedule.
